General Studies: Human Services Specialization


(18 semester-hour credits)

This specialization is for those interested in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to work with people in a variety of settings and situations. It serves as a foundation for advanced study in the field.

General Education Requirements


The Division of Graduate & Professional Studies offers 4 majors (General Studies, Health Administration, Long Term Care Administration, Radiologic Science) leading to the Bachelor of Science degree. Each major has its own set of core course requirements that provide students with a quality education that enhances their professional skills.

General Education Requirements

English Composition   6 credits 

Social Science 6 credits
Science 6 credits
History 6 credits
Philosophy 3 credits
Theology 3 credits
Ethics (PH 210) 3 credits
Mathematics 6 credits

Humanities 6 credits (to include selections from the fine arts, literature, foreign languages, philosophy, theology or history)

Summer Program


Students may choose to earn credits during a residential summer session. Course offerings are announced prior to each session in a special summer catalog.
